Edutecno: Educational Technology Journal adheres to the principles of publication ethics as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process: authors, editors, and reviewers.

1. Duties of Authors

  • Reporting Standards
Authors must present accurate, original research and provide an objective discussion of its significance. Data should be reported honestly, without fabrication, falsification, or manipulation.

  • Originality and Plagiarism
Manuscripts must be original and not submitted elsewhere. Authors must properly cite all sources and acknowledge prior research, including their own previously published work.

  • Multiple or Redundant Publications
Simultaneous submission to multiple journals is prohibited. Authors should not publish the same research in more than one journal without proper justification and transparency.

  • Acknowledgment of Sources
All data and referenced materials must be appropriately cited. Influential publications must be acknowledged.

  • Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should reflect significant contributions to the research. All listed authors must approve the final manuscript and agree to its submission.

  • Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest that may influence their research or its interpretation.

  • Fundamental Errors
If a significant error or inaccuracy is discovered after publication, authors must promptly notify the journal editor to correct or retract the article.

  • Human/Animal Subjects and Hazards
Research involving hazardous materials or human/animal subjects must include appropriate ethical approval and safety declarations.

2. Duties of Editors

  • Publication Decisions
Editors are responsible for deciding which manuscripts are published based on editorial and reviewer recommendations, relevance, originality, and quality.

  • Peer Review Management
Editors must ensure that manuscripts are evaluated through a fair, unbiased, and confidential double-blind peer review process, involving qualified experts.

  • Fair Play
Editorial decisions must not be influenced by authors’ race, gender, ethnicity, religion, or political beliefs.

  • Confidentiality
All information about submitted manuscripts must be kept confidential and used solely for editorial decision-making.

  • Conflicts of Interest
Editors must avoid handling manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest and must not use unpublished materials for personal research.

3. Duties of Reviewers

  • Confidentiality
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential and must not be disclosed or discussed with others.

  • Objectivity and Constructive Feedback
Reviews must be objective and supported by clear arguments. Reviewers should provide helpful and respectful feedback to improve the manuscript.

  • Acknowledgment of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant works that the authors have not cited and report any suspected plagiarism or ethical issues.

  • Conflicts of Interest
Reviewers must avoid reviewing manuscripts in which they have competing interests and must inform the editor if a conflict is identified.

  • Timeliness
Reviewers should respond promptly and meet agreed deadlines. If unable to complete the review on time, they should inform the editor to reassign the manuscript.

This statement ensures that Edutecno upholds the highest standards of publication integrity, transparency, and ethical responsibility.
