This article aims to assess omega-3 chicken eggs as a functional food with the potential to support public health improvements in Indonesia through a Traditional Narrative Review approach. The study was conducted by analyzing various articles and news articles published between 2020 and 2024, discussing the nutritional content, health benefits, and public perception of omega-3 chicken eggs. The results indicate that omega-3 chicken eggs are positioned as a source of animal protein with added value in the form of omega-3 fatty acids, which play a vital role in maintaining heart health, cognitive function, and preventing degenerative diseases. Furthermore, the media plays a role in improving public nutritional literacy through educational narratives, although challenges remain regarding consumer understanding and the authenticity of products on the market. In the context of public health, omega-3 chicken eggs offer significant potential for development as an affordable and accessible nutritional intervention, particularly given the unmet demand for egg consumption in Indonesia. Therefore, the development of omega-3 chicken eggs through education, innovative production, and community service programs is expected to contribute to the sustainable improvement of nutritional quality, food security, and public welfare.
