Pemberdayaan Remaja Masjid Melalui Program “Semarak Ramadhan” dalam Penguatan Karakter Religius di Masjid Baburrahim Kampung Bonto Puca Kab. Pangkep
Abstract
This community service program aimed to strengthen religious literacy, social skills, and religious character among children through the "Semarak Ramadhan Islamic Children Competition" at Baburahim Mosque, Kampung Bonto Puca. The program was initiated in response to the need for structured and competency-oriented mosque-based youth development activities rather than merely ceremonial events. The implementation employed a participatory community empowerment approach consisting of needs assessment, program planning, activity implementation, evaluation, and follow-up. The activities included adhan competitions, short surah memorization, Islamic short sermon (kultum) presentations, and Islamic quiz contests, accompanied by preliminary coaching and technical mentoring. The results indicated an increase in religious literacy based on pre-test and post-test comparisons, improved organizational skills among mosque youth committees, and strengthened religious character among participants, reflected in enhanced discipline, responsibility, and self-confidence in public performance. The findings demonstrate that optimizing the mosque’s function as a center of non-formal education can serve as an effective, participatory, and sustainable model for youth character development.
